Introduction
It is not always easy to decide work outfit. Is it possible to let your personality express yourself and have fun while respecting dress codes?
Can I wear jeans to work? What is the work outfit? In today’s article, I propose to answer all these questions and zoom in on some ideas for women’s work clothes. Ready? So get to work!
Unless you work for a company that requires you to wear a uniform, the question of fashion at work remains unanswered. No matter what industry you work in, the way you dress to go to work reflects your personality, a specific image of yourself and the company you work for.
The dress code usually reflects the environment in which you work. Let me explain. If you are employed in a bank, you can forget about light shirts with bare backs and flip-flops. It will be better to turn to pencil skirts or classic pants worn with pretty blouses, for example. On the other hand, if you work in a beachfront café, a bareback dress or shorts can be quite an appropriate outfit! It’s all a matter of common sense.
Have you just been hired by a new company? Feel free to ask your new employer about the dress code question to find out how to dress appropriately in your workplace. You can also observe your future colleagues and how they dress so as not to make mistakes
Remember that employees reflect the image of a company, so you must respect dress codes by making sure to choose the right outfit to go to work.
Outfit for Going to Work and Self-Confidence
Have you noticed how certain pieces of your dressing room can affect your state of mind? Have you ever worn a garment you love and felt good about yourself throughout the day? It’s called self-confidence… and it’s crazy how a simple little black dress can make you feel like “the queen of oil”, as they say.
It can be the case for a pair of shoes, an ultra-sexy lingerie set or even a bag. Clothes and accessories allow us to gain confidence and boost self-confidence. Given that we spend an average of 8 hours a day working, it is better to choose a work outfit in which we feel comfortable, and that highlights us, right?
Work Outfit and Relationships
We have addressed this point a little above. The image you send back of yourself plays a lot in the relationship, whether with your colleagues or your customers (if you are in direct contact with them). It may seem silly, but the clothes a person wears can directly influence the judgment of those they meet (rightly or wrongly).
Let me give you a small example: if you visit a doctor for the first time, what would you think if he received you in shorts and tank tops? Unconsciously, you might think this doctor looks a little light, and you might be less willing to trust him.
Yet this doctor may be quite brilliant, but the truth is that we all have in mind a specific image associated with a profession. It is, of course, an example, but I think you understand that logic.
Work And Fashion: An Incompatible Duo?
Just because you’re working doesn’t mean you don’t have to be well-dressed. As we have mentioned, you must respect several rules to choose your work outfit, but this does not mean that you will not be able to express your personality and please yourself!
Since we spend 80% of our time in the workplace, I would even say it is better to take the opportunity to wear clothes we love. Otherwise, you will have relatively few opportunities to wear your favourite pieces if you assume there is no point in dressing well to go to work.
If you work as a freelancer, this is also a fundamental question. When you work from home, spend your day in front of a computer without leaving home and don’t see anyone, it’s very tempting to stay in your pyjamas or jog.
NO! We continue to have fun, wear clothes we like, and do not let go. Do not forget that we dress for ourselves above all because a garment expresses a personality and femininity. Do you want to wear makeup when you’re not leaving home during the day? So what? Treat yourself.
Work Outfit – Some Basic Pieces
The good news is that almost anything is allowed! Provided you find the right balance and do not show too much. Here are some essential pieces that are easy to adopt for a top women’s work look:
Blouses: the blouse is perfect for a chic women’s office outfit. It is a basic that will go perfectly with pants and a skirt, and it goes with everything!
Tops: choose fluid materials or good quality T-shirts. Bet on soft enough tones, and try to avoid too garish colours.
Jeans: gone are the days when jeans stayed in the closet. Today there are all colours and styles, making them the perfect pants that go with everything. We still avoid jeans a little destroyed and opt for the ones that highlight us the most!
The classic pants: to vary the pleasures a little. Do not hesitate to fall for classic pants (carrot pants, with clips, straight.). It will combine perfectly with many tops in grey, black or navy blue.
The dress: do not hesitate to take out your dresses even in winter. A winter dress was worn with a pair of black opaque tights, a couple of boots or ankle boots and a warm wool coat is a perfect outfit for the office in winter.
Shoes: pumps are essential to complete an elegant outfit. But boots, boots, derbies or moccasins can also be quite suitable. Avoid only sneakers. And take care of the proper maintenance of your shoes.
