Introduction
Our nails may begin to remain damaged by applying varnish. So to find them strong and shiny, here are some tips to take good care of your nails naturally!
Choosing Healthy Products
This is the first piece of advice we want to give you: choose natural varnishes. Their composition is both environmentally friendly and healthy. Have you noticed that this often goes hand in hand?
Do not hesitate to look at the composition of natural varnishes, which is much more recommendable than conventional ones. And the great advantage is that they very often contain beneficial nail ingredients.
Moreover, at Clever Beauty, we have developed a 3-in-1 varnish, the #13 Parfait, which fills the streaks, hardens the nail and beautifies it. You can also use it as a base, beautifying varnish, or cure. Its secret ingredient? The Durio! Rich in vitamins, fibre, proteins and lipids, it stimulates the production of keratin and zinc, thus promoting cell renewal.
We talked about varnish, but choosing a suitable solvent is also essential. Yes, note that a solvent without acetone does not attack the lipid film of the nail, that is to say, the first layer that protects it from external aggressions.
Apply a Base Coat
When dealing with nail health,it is impossible not to mention the base or base coat. The installation of the floor is critical if you want to protect your nails from yellowing or varnish pigments. In addition, it can nourish, whiten and harden your nails. It all depends on the care you want to give them.
And don’t forget to put some on the tips of your nails!
Moreover, it is common for the nails to soften a little during the summer. Also, use and abuse the protective base that protects your nails and prevents them from splitting.
Whitening Nails
Now we move on to nail whitening. We will prepare them a small bath by cutting half a lemon and pouring juice into a small glass of hot water. And all you have to do is dip your fingers in the solution for a few minutes.
If you do not have lemon, you can also opt for baking soda, which will remain brushed on the nails with an old toothbrush.
This treatment is particularly suitable if you wear a lot of varnishes because this bath removes recalcitrant residues.
Moisturize your Nails
Ideally, bring oil or cream to moisturize your nails and your hands daily. Hydration, as in many areas, is critical. This is also one of the most important steps to take care of your nails because hydration helps strengthen them.
This is a highly recommended tip, especially if you want to take care of your nails in summer and your toenails!
Indeed, in the first case, the sun, salt water and sand attack the nails. And in the second, being locked up and rubbed with the fabric of socks or shoes inevitably damages the keratin of the nails.
They are then hydrated with oil and massaged for a few minutes to make them penetrate well. Also, take the opportunity to feed your cuticles.
File your Nails Gently
Be aware that nails are like hair; when they are damaged, it is necessary to remove the damaged part to prevent them from deteriorating even more. It is also more recommended to file than to cut with a nail clipper because the one tends to duplicate them.
The imaging stage is crucial in how you pay attention. We also preferred a glass file rather than cardboard or metal because it does not wear out (+1 for zero waste) and does not make snags, which makes the nails stronger.
Always smoothly and constantly in the same direction (from left to right or vice versa, but never back and forth).
It is then up to you to see what shape you want to give to your nails.
Polish your Nails
Equipped with a polisher comes the time to polish the nails. To do once a month, no more, because it could damage it. This step will make it possible to whiten them slightly.
You can then smooth the nail plate, which allows, as you will have understood, to file your nail and, thus, the varnish to adhere better.
This is a step to favour before your manicure because it allows you to prepare the nail to be varnished.
We know that for some, applying a new colour as soon as the previous one remains removed is tempting. But your nails also need to get some fresh air!
So take a break for a few days so the nail can breathe and take the opportunity to pamper them based on oil.
