Introduction
To wear makeup well after 50 years, you must not have a heavy hand on makeup. Too much makeup is, unfortunately, ageing and unflattering for the face. Too much makeup digs wrinkles and gives the impression of a tired look.
The idea is to make fresh and natural everyday makeup. I even think this should be the case for a woman of any age, too! Here I will reveal the recipe for a nice fresh and natural makeup in 12 steps.
As I often like to say,” “Fifty is the new Thirty,” that is, “50 years is the new 30 years.” It is an expression that comes straight from the USA and could not be more accurate. Today, a 50-year-old woman often seems 30! But the trend reverses with too much makeup. It is the natural and sparkling face effect that is rejuvenating.
Step 1: Clean Your Skin Before Wearing Makeup
Before you put any makeup on your face, make sure it is clean. Healthy skin is skin that is easier to make up. Even if you have removed your makeup before bed, clean your face again when you wake up.
You can clean your face only with water if you wish. In this case, I invite you to use only cold water, even in winter. Cold water wakes up the face. It tightens the skin! It is a good beauty tip.
If you want to use a soap bar when cleaning your face, I advise you to opt for a mild soap (organic soap saponified cold).” Do not attack your skin with products that dry out and damage the skin (such as classic soaps).
Step 2: Moisturize Your Skin Before Wearing Makeup
Moisturizing your skin is an essential step before you wear makeup. Well-hydrated skin is nourished skin that looks plump and brighter. I find that when you put cream, the skin looks instantly more beautiful
The cream prevents skin ageing because it acts as a protective barrier. It will protect you from the external aggressions that your skin undergoes daily with cold, wind, pollution, etc. Well-hydrated skin is skin that is damaged less quickly. So I advise you to have a good care routine. Opt for good products and moisturize your skin morning and evening.
Choose the cream best suited to your skin type. I strongly advise you to go to a dermatologist if your current cream does not satisfy you. On the internet, you can find everything. People often enjoy playing sorcerer’s apprentice by suggesting all kinds of miracle creams.
But I can’t entirely agree with that. You have to choose a cream that suits your skin type, and if you have not yet found it, your dermatologist could be of great help to you.
To apply your cream, always make gestures that go up. Don’t pull your skin down. Start from the inside of your face outward, but up slightly—ditto for the neck. Apply your cream by moving your hands up your channel.
Moisturize the eye area. Do not neglect the eye area as well. Apply a special eye cream or fluid to moisturize the underside of the eye and your eyelids.
Step 3: Hydrate Yourself From The Inside (Makeup After 50 Years)
Finally, I also advise you to hydrate yourself from the inside! Drink at least 1.5 litres of water per day. It is not a legend. Water is ultra-effective in fighting against dehydration of the skin. Remember that even very oily skin can be dehydrated.
Step 4: Choose A Dyed Product That Suits Your Skin
Makeup After 50 Years, the tinted cream is preferred to the foundation because it is much lighter. It is perfect for unifying the complexion without marking wrinkles. Foundations tend to dig wrinkles, so they should be avoided.
Tinted cream is a cream that will unify and moisturize your complexion. So you won’t need to wear a moisturizer underneath. I even advise you to opt for a tinted cream with a sun protection factor. You have to use sunscreen throughout the year; it is even more convenient if it is already contained in your makeup.
How to apply a tinted cream:
With a brush from the inside to the outside so that the finish is uniform. To the fingers by using the cream from the inside out also.
Finally, I advise you to opt for a cream tinted, the same colour as your skin. The cream should blend perfectly with your skin. The best landmark is the neck. It is the right shade if your cream is the same colour as your neck.
Step 5: Use A Mineral Powder If You Have A Combination Of Oily Skin
Tinted cream is not always suitable for combination or oily skin. If your skin is a combination or oily, I advise you to turn to a mineral powder. The mineral powder will have a rendering like tinted cream. It is light on the skin and unifies and brightens the complexion, but without greasing the face.
On the other hand, it does not have the function of moisturizing the skin. So use a non-greasy day cream (possibly prescribed by your dermatologist) before applying the powder. Then also, add non-greasy sun protection right after the day cream.
The mineral powder looks good and slightly masks imperfections. I feel like I have natural peach skin after applying it.
Step 6: Put On Concealer (Makeup After 50 Years)
The concealer will help you camouflage your dark circles and illuminate the underside of your eye. This same product can also serve as a concealer to hide your skin’s imperfections. It is applied topically before applying your tinted cream or mineral powder.
I prefer a brush or finger application—no need to put tons of them. If you choose a good product, it will cover your dark circles with very little material. In addition, know that if you put on a lot of concealers will mark your fine lines a lot under the eyes.
Step 7: Apply A Loose Powder Veil
Apply a veil of loose powder to your concealer. It will allow your concealer to last all day without slipping into the fine lines before your eyes.
For my part, I use a fine brush with soft bristles. I dip it lightly in the powder. Then I tap the meeting on the edge of the powder jar to remove the excess and lightly tap it before my eyes. I put very little because otherwise, I find that it greys the underside of my eyes.
Step 8: Apply blush or pencil to your eyebrows
Work the line of your eyebrow with a brown blush or a special eyebrow pencil. Opt for colours as close as possible to the natural colour of your eyebrows.
Step 9: Lightly Make Up Your Eyes After 50 Years
You do not have to make up your eyelids. Daily, the lighter your makeup is, the more it will make you look good. But if you want to make up your eyelids, I advise you to do something simple to enlarge your eye without overloading it.
Use a brown blush and apply it like a dash of eyeliner. Then apply it with a fine bevelled brush that you will wet beforehand. The water will allow a more intense pigmentation of the shadow on your eyelids. But you can also use a brown pencil.
You can also apply a little blush flush with lower eyelashes to give a little more depth to your look.
Step 10: Apply Blush (Makeup After 50 Years)
Apply an orange or rosé cream blush according to your complexion to add freshness to your face. If you have dry or normal skin on your cheeks, opt for a cream blush to give a satin side to your cheeks. Otherwise, opt for a powder blush.
The powder is applied with a soft bristle brush. On the other hand, the cream blush will be more easily applied with a duo-fibre brush or finger.
Step 11: Wear A Fresh Lipstick (Makeup After 50 Years)
To carry Makeup After 50 Years, the lips should be refined. It is, therefore, more flattering to opt for a gloss or a satin lipstick to give curves to your lips. Use a fresh colour such as a rosé or peach to reinforce the excellent look brought by all your makeup.
Tip: If your lipstick tends to spin in the fine lines around your mouth, use a lip contour pencil. Use a pencil that is precisely the same colour as your lipstick.
Step 12: Remove Makeup
The most important thing for nice makeup daily is having healthy skin. For this, I invite you never to skip the makeup removal step. It would help if you always fell asleep with clean skin devoid of any traces of makeup.
Remove makeup as simply and effectively as possible.
I advise you to do it directly with soap (organic and cold saponified) and warm water. Use an excellent organic mild soap like the one presented at the beginning of this article. Soap your face two times, and you will see that everything will disappear, even your eye makeup.
Only your lips will require an additional makeup removal step. Use vegetable oil (olive oil) before soaping your lips. The oil will peel off the lipstick, leaving it much more easily with the soap.
Be aware that products like micellar water are not ideal for the skin. These are products that give pimples and leave impurities on the skin. After all the makeup remover products I’ve been able to test, it’s the soap that wins the competition, hands down. It was advised to me by my dermatologist, and I am delighted.
